Rififi

I found this cover for a 1950's film which has given me some inspiration to create some more hand rendered posters to support my animation. I like the texture they have crated and the type on the side of the poster.

Postcard

I worked on this photograph using oil pastels to create this effect. I have then taken quotes from my book. I could make this postcard size with the image on the front and the quotes on the back.

Prints

Some print designs consisting of photographs that I have put into black and white with bold colour and quotes from a book from peoples accounts who have suffered with schizophrenia.

Art and FMP

I have taken screen grabs from my FMP and during my art lessons have been using hand rendered techniques to manipulate the images. I think it creates a texture to the images that you cant get from the computer and they are quick and easy to produce to add volume to my experimentation.

Black & White Film

A section of film I put together in final cut and took to after effects to add the graphics and narrative. Im not sure if the music suits the film, but just quickly added something to it.

varied faces

caried faces to portray a trapped mind. Not the most abstract, but something i was playing around with carrying on with the black and white film with colour graphics

New Graphic Elements

I used the old footage in black and white and added the narrative with some graphic elements to create a different style. I think it is more sophisticated and abstract and the colour works well against the black and white film.

Head with narrative

I just tried to add some narrative the this video I created before. i wanted to try and create an abstract look that had some narrative to give it some depth.

black & White To Colour

The first section that I filmed, switching from black and white to colour. I still think it looks better in black and white but thought i would try the combination.

Narrative experiment

Not the best thing I have done, I just wanted to post to show the stages I went through in deciding how to portray the narrative.

Black & White Film Reel

This is some screen shots of some video footage I taken and then edited in Final Cut. I then took it to after effects to add on the narrative, which i kept white to keep it clean and crisp.

I decided to go for black and white because i thought it was dramatic and sophisticated at the same time. It also helped for any discrepancies in the weather when filming on different days.

Dream Magazine

Front cover options and page layout for a dream magazine design. The magazine content is about motion graphics. I think my designs are strong and I feel it was a very positive project where i really got to grips with layout and minimal design ideas.
